Earlier in the season, when Songs would break with pace, Sakho and Valencia making great runs, giving him options, the ball would find its way to Noble, and then everything would just.... stop.

I thought he was going to be a playmaker, but he's turned more into the all action/headless chicken midfielder. I think he learned a lot from playing with Parker.
I think Nene should be given a chance as a playmaker.

You can be a playmaker from almost any midfield role - it's more a measure of what you achieve, than where or how you're played. Noble has 10 assists in 3 prem seasons, including all the set pieces he's taken - not really any sort of record for a playmaker, is it?
I do think he could play at the front of the diamond and do okay, but I don't think the diamond is an effective strategy anyway, so it's a pointless debate.

I'd like West Ham's PLAYMAKER to occasionally score a few goals here and there.
Unfortunately, I don't think Noble has that in him. He's better off playing where he is. It's where he's picked up the Hammer of the Year award 2 out of the past 3 seasons.
